Biography

Mar Targarona is a Spanish producer and director. Born in Barcelona in 1953, she studied drama at the Theatre Institute of Barcelona and the National Theatre of Strasbourg before joining the Dagoll Dagom theatre company. She later moved into advertising and, in 1990, co-founded the production company Rodar y Rodar with her husband, Joaquín Padró.

Through Rodar y Rodar she has produced a series of Spanish feature films and television projects. Her credits include The Orphanage (2007), Julia's Eyes (2010), The Body (2012) and Boy Missing (2016). She has also directed films, among them The Photographer of Mauthausen (2018) and Two (2021). The company has supported the early feature work of directors including J. A. Bayona, Guillem Morales and Oriol Paulo.
