Biography
Marc James Roels is a Belgian director and stop-motion animator. Born in 1978 in Johannesburg, he studied animation at the Académie royale des beaux-arts in Ghent and works in collaboration with Emma De Swaef.
Their films include the short Oh Willy... (2012) and the medium-length This Magnificent Cake! (2018). Roels directed and wrote the story for the first segment of the Netflix anthology The House (2022), alongside De Swaef.
