Biography

Marc Zinga is a Congolese-Belgian actor, singer and filmmaker. Born on 21 October 1984 in Likasi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, he moved with his family to Belgium at the age of five.

He began his acting career in the late 2000s with small roles, including in Mr. Nobody (2009) and Diamant 13 (2009). His breakthrough came in 2014 with leading parts in Scouting for Zebras (for which he won the Magritte Award for Most Promising Actor) and May Allah Bless France!, the latter earning a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actor. He trained at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

Zinga appeared as Youssouf in Jacques Audiard’s Dheepan (2015) and as Moreau in the James Bond film Spectre (2015). He has collaborated repeatedly with the Dardenne brothers on The Unknown Girl (2016), Young Ahmed (2019), Tori and Lokita (2022) and Young Mothers (2025). Other notable roles include the title part in The African Doctor (2016) and Sergeant Xavier in The Mercy of the Jungle (2018), for which he won Best Actor at FESPACO. He also directed the 2013 short film Grand Garçon.
