Biography
Marcello Fonte is an Italian actor born on 7 November 1978 in Melito di Porto Salvo, Calabria. He moved to Rome in 1999, where he worked as a guardian at the Teatro Valle and developed an interest in acting, later appearing in small roles in film and television.
Fonte gained international recognition for his lead performance in Matteo Garrone's Dogman (2018), winning the Best Actor Award at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, the European Film Award for Best Actor, and other accolades. He also wrote, co-directed and starred in the 2015 film Asino vola.
His other credits include roles in Io sono Tempesta (2018), Pinocchio (2019), Aspromonte: Land of the Forgotten (2019), Vivere (2019) and the HBO series I Know This Much Is True (2020), in which he played Domenico Onofrio Tempesta.
