Biography
Marcus Norris is a composer and music director. He composed the scores for the Apple TV+ miniseries Lady in the Lake (2024) and the feature film Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. (2022). He is also credited as composer on the Netflix series Bandi (2026).
Norris founded the ensemble South Side Symphony in 2020. He holds a PhD in Music Composition from UCLA, awarded through the Cota-Robles fellowship, and has received commissions including from the Atlanta Opera. His work includes orchestrations for Beyoncé’s 2023 performance in Dubai and for Andra Day’s album Cassandra (2024), as well as serving as music director for the 2022 Wearable Art Gala.
