Biography
Margaret Fink is an Australian film and television producer. Born Margaret Elliott in Sydney in 1933, she was educated at Sydney Girls High School, East Sydney Technical College, Sydney Teachers College and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She worked as an art teacher in Sydney high schools from 1956 to 1961 and was a member of the Sydney Push.
Fink entered film production in the 1970s and played a significant role in the revival of Australian cinema. Her credits include The Removalists (1975), My Brilliant Career (1979), For Love Alone (1986), the television miniseries Edens Lost (1988) and Candy (2006). My Brilliant Career, which she produced through Margaret Fink Productions, won the AFI Award for Best Film. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2024 for her services to the arts.
