Biography
Margaret Smith is an American stand-up comedian, actress, writer and producer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1956, she began her career as a stand-up comic known for her deadpan and acerbic delivery.
Her film roles include the School Guard in GoodFellas (1990), a Nurse in The Blob (1988), the Woman Cop in Bound (1996), a Colorado State Patrol Officer in Larger Than Life (1996) and a Stewardess (voice) in Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (2000). On television she has appeared in series such as 227 (1985), V.I.P. (1998) and That '80s Show (2002), and provided voice work for Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist (1995). She has also written and produced for The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Smith won the American Comedy Award for Funniest Female Stand-Up Comic in 1995 and has received multiple Daytime Emmy Awards. She lives in Austin, Texas.
