Biography
Margaretha Krook was a Swedish stage and film actress. Born in Stockholm in 1925, she trained at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy and graduated in 1951. She worked at city theatres in Norrköping, Helsingborg and Gothenburg before joining the Royal Dramatic Theatre in 1962, where she remained until her final stage appearance in 1999.
She appeared in more than fifty feature films and television productions. Her film roles include the Doctor in Ingmar Bergman's Persona (1966), Dr Larsson in Brink of Life (1958), Blenda Bergman in The Best Intentions (1992) and Doña Maria in The Adventures of Picasso (1978). Krook received the Eugene O'Neill Award in 1974 and the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress in 1976 for her performance in Release the Prisoners to Spring.
