Biography
Margarita Lozano (born Margarita de las Flores Lozano Jiménez) was a Spanish actress. She was born on 14 February 1931 in Tetuán in the Spanish protectorate in Morocco and died on 7 February 2022 in Lorca, Spain. She began her career in Spanish theatre and film before working extensively in Italian cinema.
Lozano appeared as Ramona in Luis Buñuel’s Viridiana (1962), Consuelo Baxter in Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and Concetta in the Taviani brothers’ The Night of the Shooting Stars (1982). She is also known for roles in Pier Paolo Pasolini’s Pigsty (1969), Nanni Moretti’s The Mass Is Ended (1985) and Claude Berri’s Jean de Florette (1986) and Manon of the Spring (1986). A noted stage actress, she frequently collaborated with director Miguel Narros early in her career.
