Biography
Margery Wilson (born Sara Barker Strayer) was an American actress, screenwriter and film director. She appeared in more than 50 films between 1914 and 1939, often in leading roles.
She is best known for her performance as Brown Eyes in D. W. Griffith’s Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages (1916). Wilson was one of the earliest women directors in Hollywood; her directing, writing and producing work, which included That Something (1920) and Insinuation (1922), took place mainly between 1920 and 1924. After retiring from acting she wrote numerous self-help books and taught diction to actors.
