Biography
Margit Carlqvist is a Swedish actress. She was born on 11 February 1932 in Stockholm and trained at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school, entering at the age of 17.
She made her film debut in Ingmar Bergman's To Joy (1950) as Nelly Bro. Her best-known role is Countess Charlotte Malcolm in Bergman's Smiles of a Summer Night (1955). She appeared in numerous Swedish films during the 1950s, often in supporting roles, and continued acting in films and on stage into the 1970s, including as Lena's mother in Exposed (1971). Her final film credit was in Mackan (1977).
