Biography
Maria Bonnevie, also credited as Anna Maria Cecilia Bonnevie, is a Swedish-Norwegian actress. Born in Västerås, Sweden, she grew up in Oslo and trained at the Swedish National Academy of Mime and Acting, graduating in 1997. She made her screen debut in 1991 and her stage debut in 1995 at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in a production directed by Ingmar Bergman.
Bonnevie is known for her leading role in I Am Dina (2002), for which she received the Amanda Award for Best Actress, as well as appearances in The 13th Warrior (1999), Insomnia (1997), Reconstruction (2003), The Banishment (2007), A Second Chance (2014), The Shamer's Daughter (2015), Becoming Astrid (2018) and Another Round (2020). She has been a member of the Royal Dramatic Theatre ensemble since 1998 and has worked across film, television and theatre in Scandinavia.
