Biography
María Cecilia Botero is a Colombian actress, television presenter and journalist. She was born María Cecilia Botero Cadavid on 13 May 1955 in Medellín and began her career in 1971 with the television production El Fantasma de Canterville. She had previously studied anthropology.
Botero is the daughter of actor, librettist and director Jaime Botero Gómez and the niece of actress Dora Cadavid. Her sister Ana Cristina Botero is also an actor. She is known for telenovelas including Nuevo Rico Nuevo Pobre (2007) as Antonia Mancera de Ferreira and for voicing Abuela Alma in the Disney film Encanto (2021). She later appeared in Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado (2025).
