Biography
Maria Zanoli (also credited as Maria Zanolli) was an Italian actress. She was born on 26 October 1896 in Milan, where she died on 15 November 1977.
Attracted to the stage from childhood, she began in small theatre parts and later joined companies including Giorgio Strehler's Piccolo Teatro di Milano after the Second World War. She worked with directors such as Guido Salvini and appeared in radio plays and early television dramas. Zanoli made her film debut in Renato Castellani's Zazà (1944) and appeared in around 45–60 films until 1961, often in supporting roles.
Her screen credits include Quo Vadis (1951), Europa '51 (1952) as Mrs. Galli, The Barefoot Contessa (1954), The Swindle (1955), White Nights (1957) and Barabbas (1961).
