Biography
Mariano Llinás is an Argentine director, screenwriter, producer and actor. Born in Buenos Aires in 1975, he graduated from the Universidad del Cine, where he also teaches.
He first gained attention with the 2002 mockumentary Balnearios. His feature Extraordinary Stories (2008) and the 14-hour La Flor (2018) established his reputation for complex, long-form narratives. He co-wrote Argentina, 1985 (2022) with Santiago Mitre and has collaborated on several of Mitre's films. Llinás is a founder of the production company El Pampero Cine and the son of writer Julio Llinás; his sister is actress Verónica Llinás.
