Biography
Marie-Christine Barrault is a French actress born on 21 March 1944 in Paris. She made her feature film debut as Françoise in Éric Rohmer's My Night at Maud's (1969).
She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her leading role in Cousin Cousine (1975). Barrault appeared in further Rohmer films including Love in the Afternoon (1972) and Perceval le Gallois (1978), and played Isobel in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories (1980). She has worked extensively in French film, television and theatre.
Barrault trained at the Cours Simon and the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique. She published the autobiography This Long Way to Get to You in 2010.
