Biography
Marie-Laure de Noailles (née Bischoffsheim) was a French patron of the arts and film producer. Born in Paris on 31 October 1902, she married Charles, Vicomte de Noailles in 1923. Together they supported numerous avant-garde artists and filmmakers through commissions and financing.
She is credited as producer, alongside her husband, on Luis Buñuel’s L'Âge d'or (1930). The couple also financed other films including Man Ray’s Les Mystères du château de Dé (1928) and Jean Cocteau’s The Blood of a Poet (1930). Their patronage extended to composers, writers and visual artists of the period. She died in Paris on 29 January 1970.
