Biography

Mark Burt is a British screenwriter of television and film. He trained at the Northern School of Film and Television, where he wrote his screenwriting debut Forgive and Forget (2000) as a graduation piece. The film, directed by Aisling Walsh, premiered at the 1999 London Film Festival.

He next wrote the two-part adaptation Where There's Smoke (2000). Since 2004 he has been a regular writer on Coronation Street, contributing scripts for over 230 episodes. His other television credits include episodes of London's Burning (2002), M.I.T.: Murder Investigation Team (2005), The Invisibles (2008), Home Fires (2015), The Dumping Ground (2013–2014) and Phoenix Rise (2023).
