Biography
Mark Roberts (born 19 January 1961) is an American screenwriter, producer, playwright, actor and comedian. He was born in Urbana, Illinois.
Roberts began as a stand-up comedian in Chicago and appeared on The Tonight Show seven times between 1992 and 1995. This led to guest roles in series including Seinfeld, Friends, The Practice, The Larry Sanders Show and Two and a Half Men, as well as a series regular part on The Naked Truth (1995–1998). He also appeared in films such as Bulletproof (1996).
His 2000 play Couples Counseling Killed Katie drew the attention of producer Chuck Lorre, who hired him as a writer and producer on Two and a Half Men (2003). Roberts went on to create and executive produce the sitcom Mike & Molly (2010–2016). He has also directed and written episodes of both series.
