Biography
Markus Förderer is a German cinematographer. Born in Baden-Baden in 1983, he studied at the University of Television and Film Munich. He began working as a director of photography in 2007 and has since shot both independent features and large-scale productions.
Förderer is known for his collaborations with director Tim Fehlbaum, beginning with Hell (2011), for which he received the German Camera Award. His other credits include I Origins (2014), Stonewall (2015), Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), Red Notice (2021), Bliss (2021), Constellation (2024) and September 5 (2024). He joined the American Society of Cinematographers in 2019 and won the German Film Award for Best Cinematography for September 5 in 2025.
