Biography
Marlène Jobert is a French actress and author. Born on 4 November 1940 in Algiers, French Algeria, she made her stage debut in 1963 and her film debut as Élisabeth Choquet in Jean-Luc Godard's Masculin Féminin (1966).
She appeared in several popular French films of the late 1960s and 1970s, including Very Happy Alexander (1968), Rider on the Rain (1970), The Married Couple of the Year Two (1971) and We Won't Grow Old Together (1972). She received a César d'honneur in 2007.
From the 1980s onwards Jobert gradually withdrew from acting to concentrate on writing and narrating children's books and audio books. She is married to dental surgeon Walter Green and is the mother of actress Eva Green.
