Biography
Masao Yagi (1932–1991) was a Japanese composer, pianist and arranger. Born in Tokyo, he worked extensively in film and television, providing original music for titles including An Actor's Revenge (1963), Shogun's Joy of Torture (1968), Tomorrow's Joe (1970) and The Transgressor (1974).
Yagi was also active in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1950s, performing with musicians such as Sadao Watanabe and recording an early album of Thelonious Monk compositions. He composed and arranged for numerous film soundtracks and anime series over three decades.
