Biography
Masao Yamazaki is a Japanese art director and production designer. He worked on several films directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara, including Pitfall (1962), where he served as art director, and Woman in the Dunes (1964), on which he shared production design duties with Tōtetsu Hirakawa.
Yamazaki also contributed art direction and production design to The Face of Another (1966). His other credits include art direction on Hell in the Pacific (1968) and The Sands of Kurobe (1968). He received a Mainichi Film Award for art direction on Woman in the Dunes.
