Biography
Mathieu Carrière is a German actor born on 2 August 1950 in Hanover. He began his career as a child, appearing as the young Tonio in Tonio Kröger (1964) and in the lead role of Young Törless (1966). He has worked extensively in film and television, with credits including India Song (1975) as the German embassy attaché, The Aviator's Wife (1981) and numerous series such as Inspector Rex (1994) and Luther (2003).
Carrière is also a director and writer. His sister Mareike Carrière was an actress. In 1980 he served on the jury of the Berlin International Film Festival.
