Biography
Matīss Kaža is a Latvian filmmaker, producer, director and writer. He co-wrote the screenplay and served as producer on the animated feature Flow (2024). He holds a BFA in Film and Television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and has been a directing fellow at the AFI Conservatory.
Kaža founded the production company Trickster Pictures and has worked as a lead producer at Dream Well Studio. His other credits include producing, writing and directing Neon Spring (2022) and The Taste of Water (2022), as well as earlier documentary work such as One Ticket Please (2017). For Flow, he shared the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, becoming the youngest winner in the category.
