Biography
Matt JL Wheeler, also credited as Matt Wheeler, is a British screenwriter and producer. He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in English literature and obtained an MFA in screenwriting from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He was awarded a BAFTA scholarship and received the Samuel Goldwyn Award after winning the 2010 UCLA showcase competition.
Wheeler joined the writing staff of the CBS series Hawaii Five-0 in 2015. He contributed to 32 episodes across five seasons and served as co-showrunner for seasons 9 and 10. He co-created the CBS series Salvation, writing its pilot, which premiered in 2017. His film work includes the screenplay for Who Gets the Dog? (2016). He has also written adaptations for Sony and Warner Bros.
