Biography
Matt Pyken is an American television writer and producer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved with his family to Van Nuys, California, at the age of nine. He graduated from Claremont McKenna College with degrees in literature and political science, and previously worked as a political consultant, speechwriter and campaign manager in Washington, D.C.
Pyken has written for series including The Invisible Man (2000), Queer as Folk (2000), John Doe (2002), Las Vegas (2003), Castle (2009), NCIS: Los Angeles (2009), Empire (2015) and Monarch (2022). He has served as producer or executive producer on several of these, including co-executive producer on Castle and consulting producer on Mr. Robot (2015). He also co-created and produced the video games Fox Hunt (1996) and National Lampoon's Blind Date.
