Biography
Matthew Ross is an American screenwriter, director and journalist, also credited as Matthew M. Ross. He began his career in film journalism, serving as a reporter for Variety from 2000 and later as senior editor of Indiewire and managing editor of Filmmaker magazine.
Ross wrote two episodes of the ABC series Nashville (2017) and acted as creative consultant for its fifth season. He wrote and directed the feature Frank & Lola (2016), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and has directed episodes of Wu-Tang: An American Saga (2021–2023) as well as the film Siberia (2018). Born in New York City in 1976, he is based in Harlem.
