Biography
Matthew Smitley is a director, writer, producer, editor and actor. Originally from Corbin, Kentucky, he has directed several short films, including The Arbors (2022), That Groovy Rotten Smell (2024) and Unto the Apparition of Phantoms (2025). His films have screened at domestic and international festivals.
As an actor, Smitley appears as Hartman in the FX series English Teacher (2024–2025) and as GA Attendant #1 in the feature film Carolina Caroline (2026).
