Biography

Maurice Cain is a British production designer and art director. Born on 1 September 1945, he has worked extensively in television and film since the 1970s.

He served as production designer on the BBC series Hamish Macbeth (1995–1997) and The Village (2013–2014). Other notable credits include Rhodes (1996), The Scarlet Pimpernel (1999), Foyle's War (2002), The Shadow Line (2011), An Inspector Calls (2015) and Traitors (2019). Earlier film work encompasses Nate and Hayes (1983) and Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future (1985).

Cain has received three BAFTA TV Award nominations for production design, for Foyle's War, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Rhodes, and won an RTS Craft & Design Award for The Max Headroom Show.
