Biography
Maurice Marsac (23 March 1915 – 6 May 2007) was a French actor who appeared in more than 150 American films and television productions. Born in Croix, Nord, France, he served in the French Resistance during the Second World War before moving to the United States, where he made his screen debut in an uncredited role in Paris After Dark (1943).
Marsac was frequently cast as waiters, maitre d's and other French characters. His credits include To Have and Have Not (1945), How to Marry a Millionaire (1953), The Poseidon Adventure (1972), Herbie Rides Again (1974), The Jerk (1979) and The Big Red One (1980) as the Vichy Colonel. His final screen role was as a maitre d' in Dragnet (1987). He was also a nationally ranked croquet player.
