Biography
Maurice Risch (also credited as Maurice Albert Risch) is a French actor. He was born on 25 January 1943 in Paris and trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique.
He began his film career in 1966 with a role in Le Grand Restaurant alongside Louis de Funès, who also cast him in The Exchange Student (1967). Risch appeared as Raymond Boursier in François Truffaut's The Last Metro (1980) and as Maréchal des Logis Beaupied in two Gendarme films (1979 and 1982). He provided the voice of Châteaupétrus in Asterix in Britain (1986) and took supporting roles in films including We Won't Grow Old Together (1972), The Discord (1978), Umbrella Coup (1980) and Beau-père (1981). He has also maintained a stage career.
Risch died on 28 March 2025.
