Biography
Maurizio Lucidi (1932–2005) was an Italian film director, screenwriter and editor, sometimes credited as Maurice A. Bright or Mark Lander. Born in Florence, he began his career as a film editor in the early 1960s and worked as assistant director for Pier Paolo Pasolini on The Gospel According to St. Matthew (1965).
Lucidi made his directorial debut with Hercules the Avenger (1965, as Maurice A. Bright). He directed numerous genre films, particularly spaghetti westerns such as My Name Is Pecos (1966), Pecos Cleans Up (1967) and It Can Be Done Amigo (1972). He also edited Don Quixote (1992).
