Biography
Max Amann (24 November 1891 – 30 March 1957) was a German Nazi Party official and publisher. He served as the first business manager of the Nazi Party and later headed Eher Verlag, the party's official publishing house, which issued Mein Kampf. In 1933 he was appointed Reichsleiter for the press and president of the Reich Press Chamber.
Amann appears as himself in Leni Riefenstahl's propaganda film Triumph of the Will (1935), credited with viewing a parade of the SA. After the Second World War he was classified as a major offender by a denazification court, sentenced to ten years in a labour camp, and stripped of most of his property. He was released in 1953 and died in Munich.
