Biography
Max Cullen is an Australian stage and screen actor. He was born on 29 April 1940 in Wellington, New South Wales. He trained in painting and sculpture at Sydney's National Art School before studying acting at the Ensemble Theatre from 1963.
Cullen has appeared in numerous Australian films and television series. His credits include Mr. McSwatt in My Brilliant Career (1979), a role in Spider and Rose (1994), Owl Eyes in The Great Gatsby (2013), Travis Hudson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), and recurring parts in The Flying Doctors, Secret Valley and Love My Way. He won AFI and Film Critics Circle awards for Best Supporting Actor for Spider and Rose.
His brother was the actor Cul Cullen. Cullen has performed a one-man show, 'Lawson', about the poet Henry Lawson, since 2007.
