Biography
Maximilian Leo is a German film producer and director. Born on 3 April 1979 in Cologne, he studied feature film direction at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne from 2005 to 2009. He began by producing documentaries in locations including Afghanistan and Africa.
In 2008, Leo co-founded the production company augenschein Filmproduktion with Jonas Katzenstein. He has produced feature films including 7500 (2019), Stowaway (2021), The Assessment (2024), The Dive (2023), A Sacrifice (2024) and Mother Mary (2026). His directorial debut, My Brother's Keeper (2014), premiered at the Berlinale.
