Biography
Melissa Hickey is an American director, writer and actress. She began her career with acting roles in the 1990s and early 2000s, including appearances in Law & Order (1993), The Perez Family (1995) and Gold Coast (1997, as Melissa Ramone).
She later trained as a director, earning a master's degree from the American Film Institute Conservatory after a bachelor's in Anthropology from Columbia University. Her short films include Ni-Ni (2014), which premiered at Clermont-Ferrand. She made her television directorial debut on the final season of Ozark (2022) and has since directed episodes of Superman & Lois (2022), Mayans M.C. (2022), American Rust (2024) and Tracker (2026).
Hickey has participated in several directors' programmes, including those run by Netflix, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros. Television. Her short film work has received awards from the Directors Guild of America and other bodies.
