Biography
Mena Massoud is a Canadian actor. He was born in Cairo, Egypt, to Coptic Orthodox Christian parents and emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of three. He grew up in Markham, Ontario, and trained as an actor at Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University), graduating with a BFA in 2014 after briefly studying neuroscience at the University of Toronto.
Massoud made his film debut in Ordinary Days (2017). His breakthrough came with the title role in Disney's live-action Aladdin (2019). He has also appeared in the Amazon Prime series Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (2018) as Tarek Kassar, the Netflix film The Royal Treatment (2022) as Prince Thomas, and the horror film The Sacrifice Game (2023), which he executive produced.
