Biography
Meral Orhonsay is a Turkish actress. She began her career with the Ankara Kardeş Oyuncular theatre company and later hosted programmes on German television channel ZDF. In 1973 she was selected as Sinema Güzeli.
Her film credits include Kara Murat Fatih'in Fermanı (1973), Kanal (1978), Maden (1978), Derya Gülü (1979), Yol (1982) as Emine, and Propaganda (1999) as Şahane. She has also appeared in numerous television series, with activity spanning from 1973 to 2013.
Orhonsay received the Best Actress award at the 1st Istanbul Film Festival in 1976 for Ben Sana Mecburum (later returned) and at the 18th Altın Portakal Film Festival in 1981 for Derya Gülü, as well as the ÇASOD Emek Onur Ödülü.
