Biography
Michał Tarkowski is a Polish actor, screenwriter and director. He was born on 11 July 1946 in Warsaw.
He received a diploma from the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology in 1974 and graduated from the Directing Department of the Polish National Film School in Łódź in 1979. In the 1970s he co-founded the cabaret group Salon Niezależnych with Janusz Weiss and Jacek Kleyff.
Tarkowski is known for film roles including Witek in Man of Marble (1977), Romek in Wodzirej (1978) and Michał Gałecki in The Scar (1976). He directed the 1982 documentary Koncert. In 2011 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
