Biography
Michael A. Allowitz is an American television director and producer. He began his career in the late 1980s as a production assistant before working as an assistant director on feature films including The Prom (1992), Cruel Intentions (1999) and Bring It On Again (2004). He later served as first assistant director on television series such as In Treatment and, from 2009, The Vampire Diaries.
Allowitz transitioned to directing on The Vampire Diaries, helming 11 episodes between 2013 and 2016, among them "Christmas Through Your Eyes". He has since directed episodes of The Originals, The Flash, Dynasty (12 episodes, 2017–2022), Legacies and Batwoman.
