Biography
Michael Dougherty is an American film writer and director. Born on 28 October 1974 in Columbus, Ohio, he attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he made the short film Season's Greetings (1996). He began his career as an animator and illustrator.
Dougherty co-wrote the screenplays for X2 (2003) and Superman Returns (2006). He made his feature directorial debut with Trick 'r Treat (2007) and later directed Krampus (2015). He co-wrote and directed Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and received a story credit on Godzilla vs. Kong (2021).
