Biography
Michael Greyeyes is a Canadian actor of Plains Cree descent from the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. Born on 4 June 1967 in the Qu’Appelle Valley, he trained as a dancer at the National Ballet School of Canada and performed with the National Ballet of Canada and the Eliot Feld Ballet in New York before turning to acting in 1993.
His screen credits include the films The New World (2005), Togo (2019) and Blood Quantum (2019), for which he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor. Television roles encompass Fear the Walking Dead, True Detective and I Know This Much Is True (2020), in which he played Ralph Drinkwater. He has also worked as a director and choreographer and is an associate professor at York University.
