Biography
Michael Habeck (23 April 1944 – 4 February 2011) was a German actor and voice actor. After training at the Ruth von Zerboni acting school in Munich, he worked at theatres including the Munich Kammerspiele and appeared in numerous German television series and films from the 1970s onwards.
His best-known screen role was as the monk Berengar in The Name of the Rose (1986). He also appeared in The Bourne Identity (1988) and provided voices in German dubs of films and animations, including Asterix Conquers America (1994) and The Trixxer (2004). Habeck was particularly noted in Germany for his dubbing of Oliver Hardy and Danny DeVito.
