Biography
Michael Lloyd is an American record producer, musician, songwriter, arranger and music supervisor, also credited as Michael Jeffrey Lloyd and Michael Lloyd II. Born in New York City on 3 November 1948, he began his career in the mid-1960s, working with Mike Curb and Kim Fowley on projects that included Steven Spielberg's short film Amblin' (1968) and the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band.
Lloyd supervised the soundtrack for Dirty Dancing (1987), producing the Academy Award-winning hit '(I've Had) The Time of My Life'. He has contributed to numerous film scores and soundtracks, including Godzilla (1998), Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie (1998) and The Garbage Pail Kids Movie (1987), and has produced records for artists including the Osmonds, Shaun Cassidy and Leif Garrett. He has stated that his work has earned over 100 gold and platinum records.
