Biography
Michael von Newlinsky was an Austrian actor. Born in Vienna in 1891, he served in the First World War, reaching the rank of Oberleutnant der Reserve, before working as a dancer and acrobat in variety shows. He began his film career in the late 1920s and appeared in many supporting roles in German cinema through the 1940s.
He played Marquis Casti-Piani in G. W. Pabst's Pandora's Box (1929) and appeared in The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (1933). After the Second World War he worked primarily in radio for RIAS and NWDR, and as a conférencier.
