Biography
Michel Briguet, also credited as Michel Briguet-Lamarre, was a French pianist, musicologist and actor. Born Gustave Marie Michel Briguet-Lamarre in Bordeaux on 23 August 1918, he studied piano at the Bordeaux Conservatory. He gave numerous recitals and educational concerts throughout France, working with Jeunesses Musicales de France and other organisations over several decades.
Briguet appeared as the Grey Haired Woman's Father in Robert Bresson's L'Argent (1983), a role in which he also performed on piano. He featured as himself in the 1962 television film Terres en friches. He was appointed Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1990 and died in Paris on 5 May 1997.
