Biography
Michel Constantin, born Constantin Hokhloff, was a French actor and former professional volleyball player. He was national men's volleyball champion in 1954, 1955 and 1956 while playing for Club olympique de Billancourt, and also worked as a freelance sports reporter for L'Équipe.
He made his credited film debut as Geo Cassine in Jacques Becker's prison drama Le Trou (1960). He went on to appear in numerous crime and action films, often in supporting roles as gangsters or tough characters, including The Wise Guys (1965), Le Deuxième Souffle (1966), Last Known Address (1970) and The Inglorious Bastards (1978).
Constantin died on 29 August 2003 in Draguignan, Var.
