Biography
Michèle Pétin, also credited as Michèle Halberstadt, is a French film producer, screenwriter and former journalist. Born in Paris on 1 September 1955, she began her career in journalism, working at Europe 1 and Radio 7 before becoming editor-in-chief of the cinema magazine Première, specialising in American film.
In 1990 she co-founded the production and distribution company ARP Sélection with her husband, producer Laurent Pétin, to whom she has been married since 1987. She has produced or co-produced films including Taxi (1998), Rosetta (1999), Taxi 2 (2000), Monsieur Ibrahim (2003) and Nouvelle Vague (2025), for which she also wrote the adaptation and dialogue. In 2022 she received the Prix Fabienne Vonier at the Lumière Festival.
