Biography
Miguel Gómez is a Colombian-American actor and rapper, also credited as Aztek Escobar and Tek. Born on 20 August 1985 in Cali, Colombia, he began his career in hip-hop and was the first artist signed to Jay-Z's Roc-La Familia label.
He transitioned to acting with a role in the 2012 FX series Louie. Gómez gained prominence for his performance as Augustin 'Gus' Elizalde in the FX horror series The Strain (2014–2017). His film work includes the role of Miguel 'Magic' Escobar in the 2015 boxing drama Southpaw, as well as appearances in Megan Leavey (2017) and Blood in the Water (2016).
On television he has appeared in SMILF (2017–2019), L.A.'s Finest (2019–2020) and FBI: Most Wanted (2021–2022) as Ivan Ortiz. He is also credited in The Company You Keep (2023) and NCIS: Origins (2024).
